A hands-on program with 2 workshop topics designed for middle school girls was held from 9:00am to noon on Saturday Oct.15, 2016.
“Electronics Magic” was presented by Jaime Hunter, electronics engineer and tutor. Students learned basic circuit components and built their own circuits to light a bulb or sound a buzzer.
“Designing for Flight” was presented by Candy Robinson, software engineer at
Lockheed Martin. Students learned basic concepts of flight, then experienced assembly line efficiency to manufacture paper airplanes for their test flights.
